It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here!! Football playoff season, that is. In our house, these are holy months. Especially when the Cowboys have the number 1 seed. Say what??? There is truly no greater joy than cheering for the ‘Boys while rooting against all of their NFC East rivals (please universe, let the Giants lose this weekend). The only downfall to this time of year is the pressure to eat junk food. Football, nachos, and beer just seem to go together. I’ve got good news though, I have scoured the internet and found some recipes that your guests won’t even guess are a part of your clean-eating plan. Put these out for the games this weekend and you’ll be a hero without having to feel guilty.
These are my go to for any sporting event. They are delicious! They will instantly fill that chips and dip craving without all the added sugar and processed junk. The only problem is they’ll be gone before you know it and leave you wanting more.
Like I said, nachos and football just go together. This recipe is modifiable to fit almost any dietary preference. It definitely gives you that nacho satisfaction while providing a healthy dose of veggies and lean protein to fill you up with nourishing, real foods.
Say what? This is not a drill, people! I have personally made these several times and loved them! The filling is made from a cashew cheese making them vegan, whole 30 compliant, paleo friendly, and gluten free. You can alter the toppings to make them your own (my husband wraps his in uncured bacon).
Can we all just take a moment and thank whoever decided to dig up sweet potatoes and try them for the first time? Seriously, so good. And they just pair so well with both avocado and bacon. I could legitimately eat these all day. If you’re not into bacon, switch it out for grass fed buffalo meat or ground beef and have your own little sliders. So good.
These bites have a delicious asian flavor to them reminiscent of sticky wings. They’re vegan and gluten free and can be modified to fit a paleo diet as well. With these on the table, you won’t miss those deep fried wings you’ve been ordering all season.
